Vincent Sbarra Sr., 71, passed away unexpectedly, Tuesday, March 12, 2024, in North Utica.
Vinny was born in Utica, September 8, 1952, a son of the late Louis A. and Louise I. (Neri) Sbarra. He was educated in local schools and a graduate of JFK High School. He was a master tree cutter employed by the Utica Parks Department, for many years. He also operated his own independent tree cutting business.
Vinny began bodybuilding, with his dad, at an early age. He entered many competitions and won many championships. Vinny Sbarra was legendary for his physical prowess and well respected by all who knew him and knew of him. He was a loving dad and devoted friend to the many who were devoted to him. Rest in peace Vinny.
He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Louis and Razan Sbarra, and his mom, Lisa (George) Nicolette; twin sons, Anthony and Vincent Sbarra and their mom, Carolann Cardone; grandchildren, Madison and Luca Sbarra; two sisters, Paulette Sbarra and Patricia Henderson; and also many nieces, nephews, cousins, and devoted friends too numerous to mention. He was predeceased by his niece, Michelle Henderson; and nephew, Philip Mancuso.
Relatives and friends may call on Sunday, March 17, 2 to 4 p.m., at The Matt Funeral Home, 700 Rutger St., at Mohawk St., Utica. There will be a prayer service at the conclusion of calling hours.
