David Byron Marriott, 58, passed away on Thursday, May 20, 2010 at Tufts Medical Center in Boston. His loving family was by his side.

David was born in Utica on January 25, 1952, a son of Mark and Rosemary (Laterza) Marriott. He was educated in local schools and was a graduate of TR Proctor High School.

On August 30, 1991, David was joined in marriage to Kristine Cittadino and the couple had been especially devoted to each other for over nineteen years.

David at one time was employed by Rintrona’s Bakery, but for the past several years has owned and operated Quality Wallpaper & Paint. He was a skilled craftsman who loved his work and was committed to all of his clients.

Dave was a man of simple pleasures, he enjoyed being with family and loved watching “Popeye” with his son. Holidays were a favorite for him because of his love for all the traditions; especially enjoying the food.

He will be deeply missed by his beloved wife, Kristine; son, David; daughter, Andrea’; mom, Rosemary; grand daughters, Aubrey and Addison; brother and sister-in-law, Mark Peter Marriott and his wife, Janet Tinelli; mother-in-law, Lena Cittadino; one sister-in-law, and three brothers-in-law, Maria and Ralph Centolella, Anthony Cittadino and Philip Cittadino; nephews, Sam Centolella, Anthony and Sam Cittadino, and Tony and John Lupino; a niece, Danielle Centolella and RJ; and many good friends. He was predeceased by his father, Mark Marriott and his father-in-law, Sam Cittadino.

His funeral will be held on Monday at 8:30a.m. from The Matt Funeral Home and at 9:30a.m. at St. Mary of Mt. Carmel/Blessed Sacrament Parish. Entombment will be in Calvary Mausoleum. Relatives and friends may call on Sunday from 2-5 p.m. at The Matt Funeral Home, 700 Rutger St., corner of Mohawk St., in Utica.

The family would like to offer their heartfelt thanks to Dr. Kenneth Miller and Krista Tucker of the Tufts Medical Center of Boston, Dr. Desai of Utica, and the 6th floor nurses at St. Luke’s Hospital for all of their care and compassion during Dave’s illness. Please omit floral arrangements.

Kris and son David I'm so sorry for your loss. David,I seldom see a father who loved his son as much as he loved you. He was the best dad ever. You're a very lucky young man to have two special parents who made you their world. I know it will be hard but remember all the good times and everything he taught you. My prayers and thoughts are with you. With heartfelt sympathy, Margaret Capalupo

Dear Kris and David, David was my brother in law for many years and I feel like he was really my brother during that time. He was caring and kind...I don't think I ever heard him speak badly about anyone! He loved two things his family and his food! Kris you made sure he had both all the time! Pete said today that the best thing that happened to my brother was Kris...he is so right! You both were the best for each other in good and bad times. You never gave up...I wish I was as strong as both of you! I was honored to have him in my life and I am honored to still have you and little David in my life. Please I hope it is ok if I stop by to visit once in a while because I love you both! Love your Sister and Aunt Patty
