Ms. Diane M. (Lewandowski) Hiscock, 57, passed away after a valiant battle with cancer at home with her beloved children by her side on Sunday, May 13, 2012.

Diane was born in Utica on June 5, 1954, a daughter of the late Stanley E. and Sally M. (Biernet) Lewandowski. She was raised in West Frankfort and educated in local schools graduating from Frankfort High School. At one time, Diane was married to Kevin J. Hiscock and from that union she had her three children, who she adored.

She was employed for many years as a medical transcriptionist at Genesee Orthopedic Associates in Utica, who continued to support Diane throughout her illness.

Diane’s children were the focus of her life and she was always there for them; never missing a sporting event, play or any function that they were involved with. She was proud of all their accomplishments and her presence will be so deeply missed.

Diane leaves her two sons Jared and Jonathan Hiscock and her daughter, Loreal Hiscock, all of Frankfort; a step daughter, Kristen Lawrence of Watertown; and also many additional relatives, neighbors and friends.

Her funeral will be held on Wednesday at 9 a.m. from The Matt Funeral Home and at 10 a.m. at St. Anthony & St. Agnes Church. Interment will be in St. Stanislaus Bishop & Martyr Cemetery. Relatives and friends may call on Tuesday from 4 -7 p.m. at The Matt Funeral Home, 700 Rutger Street, corner of Mohawk Street, Utica.

The family would like to thank Diane’s special friend, Sue Cruze and cousin, Janet Biernat, for all their devotion and care during her illness.

Loreal, I am very sorry to hear about your mom. I know that God has one more Angel, because while I did not know your mom, I do know you, a young lady with grace and spirit must have been raised by an Angel herself. I pray that God holds you and comforts you during this time. If you need anything at all let me know. With Love Always, Wendy Baldanza

I'm was so shocked when I saw this in the OD. I knew your mother when we both worked at Faxton Hospital in the X-ray Department before she married Kevin. And, oh my gosh, she looks the same so beautiful, just a little more gray in her hair. She was always so loving and classy. My heart hurts that she is no longer in this world. She was such a beautiful person. My love and prayers for all of you.

Loreal, My heart skipped when I read your Mom's name in the paper today. All I could think of were the years of growing up in West Frankfort with your mother on hand for everything. Every event, every field trip, every accomplishment... And her motherly ways were extended to all who were around her. She was kind, gentle and had a smile for everyone. She was completely giving of herself and would do anything for anyone. I will always remember her for her goodness and the awesome job she did raising her children. Know that a piece of her is in each of you and will remain there always.
