Mrs. Jennie N. Pimpinella, 90, passed away on Friday, August 3, 2012 in the Presbyterian Home of CNY.

She was born in Utica, NY, December 24, 1921, a daughter of the late Salvatore and Vincenza (Genco) Cristallo. Jennie was raised in Utica, attended local schools, and graduated from Thomas R. Proctor High School, class of 1940. On October 11, 1947, at St. Mary of Mt. Carmel Church in Utica, Jennie married Albert J. Pimpinella, following WWII and his return home. Albert passed away on February 6, 2007. Mrs. Pimpinella was employed for many years by Carparelli Brothers, a builder’s supply store formerly in New Hartford.

Jennie and Albert were the parents of two children, her daughter and son-in-law, Lorraine and Joseph Lamachia of Rockaway, NJ and her son and daughter-in-law, Richard and Mary Pimpinella of Utica; her grandson, Michael Pimpinella and his wife, Crystal and their daughters, Carly and Katherine Jennie; and her grandson, Nathan Pimpinella and his wife, Tiffany of Utica.

Jennie was predeceased by a brother, Salvatore Cristallo and has two surviving siblings, Carmen “Cris” Cristallo of Laurens, NY and Rosemarie Vitullo and her husband, Florio of New Hartford, NY and West Palm Beach, FL. She is also survived by sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Elizabeth and her husband, Gilbert Williams and Rose and her husband, Gene Gleaton; in addition to many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a sister-in-law and several brothers-in-law.

Relatives and friends may call on Monday from 5-7 p.m. at The Matt Funeral Home, 700 Rutger St., corner of Mohawk St., in Utica with a prayer service at the conclusion of calling hours.

Private entombment will be is Resurrection Chapel Mausoleum.

The family would like to offer their sincerest gratitude to the nurses and staff of the Presbyterian Home for the loving and compassionate care shown to Jennie during her stay there.
