Agostino LaBuzzetta Obituary

Mr. Agostino "Augie" J. LaBuzzetta, 77, passed away on Monday, January 18, 2016 in Valley Health Services, after a long battle with Parkinson's Disease. Agostino was born in Utica, February 11, 1938, a son of the late Giovanni "John" and Carmella Carbone LaBuzzetta. He was educated at Mt. Carmel Schools and graduated from UCA in 1956. Augie furthered his education at Utica College. Mr. LaBuzzettta was in the Army from 1958 until 1961, and was stationed in Germany. On August 17, 1963, Augie married the former Theresa Lofaro at Mt. Carmel Church. The couple had been devoted to each other and their family for over 52 years. Augie worked in the Machine and Computer Industries for most of his career; 16 years at UNIVAC and 10 years at Lockheed Martin, where he retired on March 1, 1998. Augie was a member of the Knights of Columbus and the Alpha Phi Delta Fraternity at Utica College. His favorite pastime was watching TV with his grandchildren and he was an avid Yankee fan. A loving husband, father, and grandfather, Augie is survived by his beloved wife, Theresa "Terry" of Deerfield; Two sons and daughters-in-law, John and Lisa LaBuzzetta of Georgia, and Mark and Christine LaBuzzetta of Deerfield; one daughter and son-in-law, Melinda and Robert Maycock of Deerfield; eight grandchildren, Joseph, Andrew, and Kayla Maycock, Jennifer, Emily, and John LaBuzzetta Jr., and Alexa and Mark LaBuzzetta Jr.; a brother-in-law, Joseph Lofaro; an aunt, Sylvia Carino; and many cousins. His funeral with Military Honors will be held on Saturday at 10 a.m. at St. Mary of Mt. Carmel/Blessed Sacrament Parish with private interment in Calvary Cemetery. Relatives and friends may call on Friday from 5 to 7 p.m. at The Matt Funeral Home, 700 Rutger St., corner of Mohawk St., Utica. By family request please omit floral donations.
