Angeline V. DeMichele, 92, passed away peacefully, at her home, with the love of her family in her heart, Saturday, March 7, 2026.
Angeline was born on February 14, 1934, a daughter of the late Vincent and Carmella (Amendola) Speciale. She was educated at Wetmore School and then T.R. Proctor High School, and later BOCES, from which she graduated.
On November 8, 1952, Angeline married Norman J. DeMichele, a union filled with love, which lasted over fifty years until Norman passed away on May 26, 2003.
Employed by UNIVAC for over 18 years, Ang also worked for five years at General Electric in Utica until she retired due to its closing.
A communicant of St. Anthony & St. Agnes Church in Utica, Angeline was also devoted to Saint Anthony. An exceptional homemaker, and devoted wife and mother to her five children, she was always welcoming to anyone who came to her door. Ang also enjoyed crocheting, especially baby items for her family and friends.
Angeline is survived by her sons and their wives, Norman Jr. and Lori DeMichele of Lakeland, FL, Louis and Julie DeMichele of Whitesboro, and Dominick and Jamie DeMichele of Whitesboro; a daughter-in-law, Kim DeMichele of MD; sister-in-law, Jane Siriano; twenty grandchildren, many many great grandchildren, and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Norman DeMichele Sr.; her daughter, Helene “Toots” Peterson, who was always in her heart; her son, Michael DeMichele; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Joseph and Nettie Speciale, and Dominick and Marion Speciale; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Pauline and James Cavo, and Anna and Roger Burdick; and brother-in-law, Bob Siriano.
Angeline’s funeral will be held on Thursday, at 12 Noon, at St. Anthony & St. Agnes Church in Utica. Interment will take place in Calvary Cemetery. Relatives and friends may call on Wednesday, 5 to 7 p.m., at The Matt Funeral Home, 700 Rutger St., corner of Mohawk St., Utica.
Angeline’s family wishes to thank her personal caregivers, Stacy, Jenna, Alexis, Lexi, Sue, and Lola, for all their loving care and kindness shown to Ang.
