Angeline Doti Obituary

Angeline R. Doti, 96, passed away peacefully on Thursday, August 11, 2016, on the Yonkers Unit, at the Masonic Care Community. Angeline was born in Utica on November 24, 1919, a daughter of Giovanni and Maria Giuseppa (Passalano) Doti. She attended Conkling School and was a member of the first graduation class at T.R. Proctor High School in 1938. Following high school, Angeline was employed as a cashier for the A & P Tea Company for many years. In earlier years, Angeline enjoyed traveling and was a member of the IAM and the UFCW. She was a longtime communicant of Historic Old St. John's Church and a member of the St. John's Guild. A very loving and devoted family oriented person, Angeline is survived by her sister-in-law, Jane Doti; and many nieces and nephews, including John and Mary Anne Doti, Susan and Robert Longo, Phyllis and James Steere, and many great and great-great nieces and nephews, including James and Betsy Steere, Eric and Ello Steere and Emily Steere, Jennifer and Vinnie Toscano, Stacy and Michael Roth, Sarah Burgess and Steven, Thomas and Joseph Burgess, also special friends, Millie Fausto, Carmella Vaccaro, Sharon Wood, Joanne Donaruma Wade and Ann Brown. She was predeceased by her two brothers, Michael and Rocco Doti; her sister, Domenica Cerminaro Mazzatti; sister in law, Catherine Doti; and brother-in-law, Chester Cerminaro and a very special friend John "Jack" Fitzgerald. Relatives and friends are invited to attend her Mass of Christian Burial on Tuesday at 10 a.m. at Historic Old St. John's Church. Private interment will be in St. Agnes Cemetery. There are no calling hours, but the family will greet visitors at the conclusion of mass. The family would like to offer their sincere gratitude to the staff and caregivers of the Yonkers Unit of the Masonic Home for the loving care and compassion shown to Angeline during her stay there.
