Mrs. Angeline J. Martin, 95, passed away, with the love of her family in her heart, on Monday, November 1, 2021.
Angeline was born in Utica, June 9, 1926, a daughter of the late Frank and Maria (Fortuna) Saldarelli. She was educated in local schools, attending TR Proctor High School.
On April 17, 1945, Angeline was joined in marriage to Frederick D. “Fred” Martin. The couple shared a loving marriage of over fifty-eight years, living and raising their family in Oriskany. Her beloved Fred passed away on November 15, 2003.
Angeline was employed for several years, as a supervisor, at General Electric on Broad Street, and later worked in local knitting mills until her retirement.
Although she raised her family in Oriskany, she always held on to her Italian heritage and her East Utica roots. She adored her family and loved passing on the many Italian traditions to them, especially during the holidays. She had a great love of animals and the outdoors, and along with her husband, spent many happy days in the Adirondacks, fishing and enjoying nature. We will miss you Nonna, rest in peace.
Angeline is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Anthony and Sharon Martin, and her daughter and son-in-law, Marlene and James Kernan, all of Oriskany; grandchildren, Martin and Caterina Kernan, Ryan and Tracy Kernan, Adam and Kelly Kernan, Michele and Steven Casaletta, Jodie and David George, and Audrey and Nathan Douglass; and also many beloved great grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
She was predeceased by her three brothers, Patsy, Frank, and Anthony Saldarelli.
Her family will honor her in a private gathering and she will be laid to rest beside her beloved husband, in Calvary Cemetery Mausoleum.
