Ann Trozzi Obituary

Mrs. Ann (Villelo) Trozzi, 95, passed away at home, with her loving family by her side, Thursday, March 24, 2022.

Ann was born in Utica, NY, September 28, 1926, a daughter of the late Salvatore and Grace (Fiore) Villelo. She graduated T.R. Proctor High School in 1944. On June 4, 1949, Ann married Arthur Trozzi Sr. in St. Mary of Mt. Carmel Church. The couple shared a loving and devoted marriage for over 59 years. Ann was a lifelong communicant of St. Mary of Mt. Carmel Church, a member of its St. Ann Society, as well as the Sons of Italy and St. Rosalie Society. Ann was the President of Titan Sheet Metal, Inc., a business her husband cofounded.

A truly classy lady that took over every room she entered, Ann always shot from the hip, and told it like it was. Always impeccably dressed, even at a young age, she was accessorized perfectly from her high heels to her signature hats. She never wore slacks and was nicknamed “legs” in high school and kept those beautiful legs right to the end.

Most important to Ann was the well-being of her family. An outstanding host, she enjoyed her home and especially loved when people came to have a cup of coffee and sit and visit, it always made her day.

Ann loved to have a good time; she enjoyed going out, having a scotch and dancing with her beloved Art, all night long. It is a comfort to know that they are dancing up a storm in Heaven with their daughters and all their departed loved ones.

Ann shared a special relationship with her sisters; they spoke every day and had many great times over the years. Affectionately known as the “Golden Girls” you can only guess who was who.

A woman of great strength and inner faith, she accepted every stage of her life with courage and her special flair.

She will be missed by her beloved children, son and daughter-in-law, Arthur Jr. and Katherine  of New Hartford; son, Carl and Annabell of Frankfort; son and daughter-in-law, Mario and Kim of New Rochelle; and daughter and son-in-law, Grace and Tom Decker of New Hartford; grandchildren, Katrina and Tyler Griffith, Kristina and Daniel Trociuk, Maria Rivera and Eddie Gandara, Grace Trozzi and her fiancé, Mike Sotire, and Angela Trozzi; her sister, Marie Wojnas; great grandchildren, Carter and Anna Griffith, and Samantha and William Trociuk; and many special nieces, nephews, and longtime friends.

She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Artie; daughter, Sandra Trozzi; infant daughter, Mary Ann Trozzi; sister and brothers-in-law, Grace and Thomas DeCrescenzo, and Frank Wojnas; sisters-in-law and brother-in-law, Rose White, Elvira Trozzi, Carmelita Trozzi, and Egidio Trozzi; her in-laws, Carlo and Maria Trozzi; niece, Carolann Sebergandio; nephew, Tommy DeCrescenzo Jr.; and many close friends too numerous to mention.

Ann’s Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, at 11 a.m., at St. Mary of Mt. Carmel/Blessed Sacrament Parish. The family will receive visitors immediately following mass.

The family wishes to offer their heartfelt appreciation to her physician of 50 plus years, Dr. Robert Chruscicki, for all his care and concern; lifelong friend, Cathy Shaw, especially for her caregiving over the last two years; and Hospice and Palliative Care, Inc. and Band of Angels, for helping her to stay at home.
