Anna Mae Clary

Anna Mae (Herne) Clary, 70, a longtime Utica resident, passed away peacefully on Saturday, January 30, 2021, at the Siegenthaler Center of Hospice and Palliative Care.

Anna was born on October 2, 1950, in Malone, NY, a daughter of the late Abraham and Margaret (Lazore) Herne. She was raised and educated in Malone, NY and a graduate of St. Regis Falls Central School.

Anna was an avid Bingo player, who in earlier years was a regular at the Sons of Italy and all the area Bingo Halls. She was a lover of old country music and a devoted Elvis fan. She loved to play cards, crochet blankets for her family, and always loved her daily outings where she could often be seen with her son throughout East Utica.

She leaves her three beloved children, Telicia Nicotera, Christopher Nicotera, and Francis Nicotera; her grandchildren, Dalicia Rivera, Saul Rivera Jr., Matthew Nicotera, and Byson Nicotera; great grandchildren, Lenicia McKinsey and LeAnnie McKinsey; two brothers, Abram Herne and Frank Herne; a sister, Ruth Bell; many nieces, nephews; and a special companion, Fernando Vargas. She was predeceased by her siblings, Linda Merryweather, Barbara Herne, Donna Herne, Mary Louise Neufang, and Richard Herne.

Relatives and friend may call on Wednesday, February 3, 2021, 4:30 to 6:00 p.m., at The Matt Funeral Home, 700 Rutger Street, at Mohawk Street, Utica. Her funeral service will be held at the conclusion of calling hours. We are working at a limited capacity. Face masks covering the nose and mouth, social distancing, and registration for Covid-19 tracing will be required to attend.
