Anne R. (Ambrose Ambruso) Brown, 95, of Whitesboro, passed away July 26, 2023, at the Lutheran Home, with her loving family by her side.
Born in Utica, NY, to Dominick and Jennie (Coppola) Ambruso, Anne graduated from T.R. Proctor High, class of 1945. She married Elliott G. Brown Sr., July 26, 1947, a blessed union of 44 years, until his passing on January 10, 1991.
Anne lived a faithful life of love and compassion. She was a member of the Altar Rosary Society and attended mass daily until it was no longer feasible due to her health. She was employed at A&P Co. grocery for many years. Anne loved playing cards in her club, with her neighborhood friends. She was a petite lady with a huge heart, who had countless friends. Every occasion was always marked by the receipt of dozens of cards wishing her well. As a final tribute to her life, Anne’s death occurred on The Feast of Saint Anne, the patron saint of mothers; and the anniversary of her marriage to Elliott.
Anne is survived by sons, Elliott Brown Jr. of Albany, NY and Richard D. Brown (Colleen O’Grady) of Schenectady, NY; granddaughters, Jenna and Danielle; grandson, David; brother, Michael Ambrose (Frances); and sisters-in-law, Carol Ambrose and Marie Ambruso; niece, Michele (Lapaglia) Smith (Garry); good friends, Dale and Beann Allison; and many nieces and nephews, as well as, many special friends at St. Paul’s. She was predeceased by her sister, Theresa; brothers, Rocco, Joseph, Dominick, and Donald; and special brother-in-law, Michael Lapaglia; and sisters-in-law, Gloria and Celia.
Her mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Paul’s Church, 16 Park Ave., Whitesboro, NY, Thursday, August 3, at 11:30 a.m. Should friends desire, contributions may be sent to the American Heart Association, PO Box 840692, Dallas, TX 75284-0692 or Lutheran Home, 110 Utica Rd.
