Mrs. Anne M. (Perretta) Puleo, 97, passed away, with loved ones by her side, Wednesday, May 4, 2022, in the comfort of her home.
Anne was born in Utica, September 23, 1924, a daughter of the late Rocco and Carmela (Abbata) Perretta. She was educated locally, attending T.R. Proctor High School and continued her education at the Utica School of Commerce.
On October 21, 1950, Anne married Michael J. Puleo at St. Mary of Mt. Carmel Church. Anne and Michael shared 56 years of marriage filled with love, devotion, and family. They were a truly committed couple, rarely seen apart, until Michael passed away on March 6, 2007.
Mrs. Puleo worked as a payroll clerk for 8 years at NY Central Railroad, and continued her career at Chicago Pneumatic, for over 20 years, until her retirement in 1985.
A woman of true elegance, Anne never left the house without being perfectly appointed from her hair to her shoes, and her makeup was always perfect. Her beautiful blue eyes and warm smile, lit up any room she entered. She lived a beautiful life filled with love for her family and many friends. She enjoyed singing with her beautiful voice and was an excellent baker and cook; who always had treats for everyone. She especially enjoyed sharing her goodies with her “Tuesday morning coffee club” at the Marr-logg Restaurant. A proud and loving grandmother, she enjoyed watching her grandchildren in their various sporting activities and career paths. The sweetest woman you could ever meet, Anne will be forever missed.
Anne is survived by her loving daughters and their husbands, Barbara and David Critelli, and Phyllis and Steven Madrak, all of Utica; her beautiful grandchildren, Dr. Kristen Critelli and Jason North of Pittsburgh, PA, Lauren Critelli of Arlington, VA, and Michael Critelli of Utica; son-in-law, Mathew Seppo of Duluth, MN; many nieces, nephews, cousins, and members of her Tuesday morning coffee club, Joe LaPaglia and Judy Pelle.
She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Michael; her daughter, Mary Elaine Seppo; her infant son, Joseph Puleo; sister and brother-in-law, Antoinette and Michael DeLorenzo; brother, Joseph Perretta; in-laws, Philip and MaryJane Puleo, Ann Puleo, Providence and Anthony Mazzola, Nicholas and Rose Puleo, and John and Victoria Puleo; her dear friends, Marge Pettinato, and Edith and Emory Poccia.
