Antoinette Hart Obituary

With deep sadness, we mourn the loss of our beloved Mother and Nonnie, Antoinette Marie (Star) Hart, 82, who passed away peacefully, at the home of her daughter, on Monday, June 2, 2025. At the time of her passing, she was surrounded by her loving family.

Antoinette was born in Utica, on September 15, 1942, the daughter of the late Amelio and Antoinette (Malara) Star. She was educated in St. Mary’s Catholic School on South Street and later graduated from Utica Free Academy.

On June 5, 1965, Antoinette was joined in marriage to David M. Hart Sr. They shared 54 loving years of marriage, living and raising their family in Utica. Her beloved husband passed away on May 6, 2020.

Antoinette’s life revolved around her family, friends, and her church. A devoted parishioner of St. Mary’s Church on South St. until its closing, she was involved in every aspect of church life: the Altar Rosary Society, Pizza Fritte on Sundays, as well as the many church fundraisers held. Antoinette later became a parishioner of St. Joseph & St. Patrick Church, where she continued in church fellowship. She enjoyed gardening, knitting, spending time with friends and neighbors, and talking on the phone with her daily check-ins.

A loving Mom and Nonnie, she is survived by her three children, David and Linda Hart, Donna and Robert “Rob” Lynn, and Michael and Leslie Hart; beloved grandchildren, David, Matthew, and Jacob Hart, Rob Lynn Jr. and Hillary Lynn, Rachael Lynn and her fiancé, Joe DeSarro, Ryan Lynn and his girlfriend, Rylee Kolek, Rylee Lynn and her fiancé, Cameron Manley, and Joshua and Liz Schrader; and her brother-in-law, Douglas Hart, whom she cared for. She also leaves behind cousins, Joanna Ardo and Susan Dorsagno; her close childhood friend, Mary Falchi, and numerous other friends and neighbors, that she enjoyed spending time with. She was predeceased by her brother, Louis Star, and sister, Josephine Star.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend her Mass of Christian Burial on Tuesday, June 10th, at 10 a.m., at St. Joseph & St. Patrick Church. Private interment beside her husband will take place in St. Mary’s Cemetery in Clinton.

The family would like to thank Hospice and Palliative Care, with special acknowledgment of Crystal and Irene for their compassionate care and guidance.

In memory of Antoinette, please consider a donation to Hospice and Palliative Care or to a charity of your choice that reflects Antoinette’s generous and faithful spirit.
