Utica, NY: Mrs. Arzett G. (Ellis) Bosco, age 101, a life-long resident of Utica, passed away peacefully after a short illness, February 14, 2025, in Southern Pines, NC.
Arzett was born in Utica, April 24, 1923, a daughter of the late Roe and Rose (Abdella) Ellis and was educated in local schools. On August 1, 1961, Arzett was married to Benedetto “Benny” A. Bosco, Jr., a loving marriage of over thirty-seven years until Benny’s untimely passing on June 3, 1998.
Arzett began work at Foster Bros. Manufacturing shortly after Pearl Harbor, in support of the war effort, continuing on to GE Aerospace, where she worked for over thirty years until her retirement. She was a communicant of Historic Old St. John’s Catholic Church.
Arzett could often be seen walking in Proctor Park, always stopping to speak with anyone she knew and never forgetting to ask after their family.
Arzett is predeceased by her husband, Benny; brother and sister-in-law, Joseph and Martha Ellis, sisters and brothers-in-law, Genevieve and Edward Clark, Sr., Sarah and John Zoppe, and Nancy and Arthur Fragetta; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Philomena LoPiccolo, Mary Adams, Salvatore Bosco, and Frank Pelle; nieces, Noor Bauder and Sonja Loudermilk, and nephew, John Zoppe, Jr. She is also survived by nieces and nephews, David and Susan Zoppe, Marjo Ellis, Edward Clark, Jr., Jomar Krawec, Gene Clark, and Cynthia and Thomas LaBelle; and many other loving great nieces and great nephews, as well as, devoted friends.
Her funeral will be held on Saturday, April 26, 2025, 10:00 a.m., at Historic Old St. John’s Church, Utica. Relatives and friends may call on Saturday, April 26, from 8:30 a.m. until 9:30 a.m., at The Matt Funeral Home, 700 Rutger St., corner of Mohawk St., Utica. Interment will take place in Calvary Cemetery next to her beloved husband, Benny.
