It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Brandy L. Salamonowicz, 42; she passed away peacefully, August 13, 2025, with her beloved grandmother by her side.
Brandy was born in Rome, NY, September 15, 1982, to Patricia Salamonowicz. She was raised and educated in Rome and a 2004 graduate of Rome Free Academy while also attending BOCES during high school.
Brandy had a wonderful and awesome life with her grandmother and grandfather, Sandy and Jeff Lee. Although her life was much too short, she lived her years to the absolute fullest. Throughout her years she traveled all along the east coast, especially to Virginia and the Carolinas. Brandy was an avid camper and spent many weekends and vacations camping with the family. She was a water baby and loved to go swimming. The minute she hit the water you couldn’t stop her feet from kicking. She enjoyed four-wheeling and being out on the boat and especially loved music and dancing. Brandy was always ready to laugh and have a good time. The past few years she has resided at the Kilbane House ICF in Utica, where she has made many friends and extended family. The family would especially like to thank Christina Petrie for her love, care, and devotion to Brandy throughout the years.
Brandy is survived by her mother, Patricia Salamonowicz of Oneida; grandmother and grandfather, Sandra and Jeff Lee of Forestport; great grandfather, James Pelton of Rome; sister, Christina Arnold of Virginia; brother, Josh Marsh of Texas; aunt and uncle, Tom and Hope Salamonowicz of Preston Hollow; and two canine companions, Mack and Tiny. She is predeceased by her great grandmothers, Martha Pelton and Grace Zielinski; and great grandfather, Edward Kienowski.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, August 21, 2025, from 12 noon to 1 p.m., at the Matt Funeral Home, 700 Rutger St., corner of Mohawk St., Utica. There will be a prayer service at the conclusion of calling hours.
Brandy touched many hearts throughout her years and will be sadly missed by all that loved her. Please consider a donation to an animal shelter of your choice in her memory.
