Mr. Carl P. Rolchigo, 101, passed away peacefully, Thursday, July 3, 3025, at the St. Luke’s Home of MVHS.
Carl was born in Frankfort, NY, September 25, 1923, one of ten children of the late Philip and Mary Ann (Tocco) Rolchigo. He was raised and educated in Frankfort. In May of 1948, Carl was joined in marriage to the former Bertha Genovese of Utica.
Carl and Bertha lived in Utica, where they raised their family and shared over fifty-four loving years of marriage. His beloved Bertha passed away on June 14, 2002.
Carl was employed at Darman Manufacturing, for over 31 years, retiring in 1986.
For many years, Carl hunted and fished, and enjoyed a camp he and his brother-in-law built in Sackets Harbor. For years many wonderful times were spent there with friends. He also was an exceptional card player with a renowned reputation.
He is survived by his daughter-in-law, Sandy Rolchigo; grandsons, Michael Rolchigo, and Joseph and Mikayla Rolchigo; and also many nieces and nephews, with special mention of his niece, Joann. He was predeceased by his beloved son, Philip Rolchigo; and many brothers and sisters.
Carl’s family will honor him privately and he will be laid to rest alongside his wife, Bertha at Calvary Cemetery.
