Carmelita Rosalie (Suppa) Scotellaro, 93, passed away, with her loving family by her side, Thursday, October 16, 2025.
Carmelita was born September 3, 1932, a daughter of the late Joseph “Chick” and Magdeline (Rizzo) Suppa. She was educated in local schools and a 1950 graduate of T.R. Proctor High School.
Carm was married to the late Samuel R. “Sam” Scotellaro, who passed away on January 31, 2020. At one time, she was employed as a secretary for the Amodio Insurance Co.
One of the sweetest ladies on this earth, Carmelita was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and aunt. She is survived by her two sons and their families, Sam Scotellaro Jr. (Vallerie) and James Scotellaro (Kelly); grandchildren, Amanda Scotellaro, and Samuel III (Meaghan) Scotellaro; great-grandchildren, Kirsten Gentile, Alex Miner, Grace Scotellaro, and Addison Scotellaro; a sister-in-law, Theresa Suppa; and many cherished nieces, nephews, and cousins in the Scotellaro, Suppa, and Chiffy families. She was predeceased by her beloved son, Stephen Scotellaro; sister, Rosemary (Alexander) Chiffy; and two brothers, Francis (Sadie) Suppa, and Salvatore Suppa; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Michael Sr. amd Mary Scotellaro; in-laws, John (Eda) Scotellaro, Louis (Alice) Scotellaro, Michael (Marge) Scotellaro, Raymond (Virginia) Scotellaro, Peter Scotellaro, Celeste Amodio Zaino, Theresa (Phil) Stoppiello, Marie (Frank) Mastrovito, and Eleanor (Frank) Barretta.
In keeping with Carmelita’s wishes there will be no public visitation. Her Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, October 24, 2025, at 10a.m., at St. Mary of Mt. Carmel/Blessed Sacrament Parish. The family will greet visitors at the end of mass. Private interment will be in Calvary Cemetery.
The family would like to thank the staff of the Masonic Care Community, for their compassion and care of Carmelita over the last several months.
