Mrs. Carmella Passalacqua Pardi, 92, passed away at the Heritage Home with her loved ones by her side on Thursday, June 16, 2005. She was born in Utica, January 23, 1913, a daughter of the late Dominick and Rachel (Panniccio) Passalacqua. She was educated in local schools. On September 24, 1938, Carmella was joined in marriage to Americo ?Mac? Pardi. The couple enjoyed a close and loving marriage of over forty-seven years until Mr. Pardi passed away September 8, 1985. Carmella was a faithful wife and loving mother whose life revolved around her family. She was a machine operator and inspector at Sturdy Togs for many years, retiring in 1974. A deeply religious woman, Carmella was a lifelong member of St. Mary of Mt. Carmel Church as well as its St. Anne Society. She was also a longtime member of both the East Side Senior Center and the North Utica Senior Center. She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Dominic and Paula Pardi, her son, Frank Pardi and her daughter-in-law, Sharon Pardi; grandchildren, Paul and Megan Pardi, William and Jodie Pardi, Dominic, ?Chip? and Pamela Pardi, Marc Pardi, Frank Pardi and Kristyn Pardi; great grandchildren, Adair, Philip Cody, Aidan, Ailey and William Ryan; three brothers and sister-in-law, Joseph and Dick Passalacqua and Vincent and Nancy Passalacqua; sister-in-law, Kay Manfredo; two brothers-in-law and sister-in-law, Armond ?Bill? and Millie Pardi and Joseph LaBella; and also many nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by her two sisters, Bea Winkler and Theresa Ruggiero; two brothers Johnny and Tony Passalacqua and two sisters-in-law, Betty and Mella Passalacqua. Her funeral will be held on Tuesday at 11:30 am at St. Mary of Mt. Carmel Church with interment to follow in Calvary Cemetery. Relatives and friends may call on Monday from 4-7 p.m. at The Matt Funeral Home, 700 Rutger at Mohawk St. in Utica.
