Caroline M. Eychner, 76, a devoted Catholic from Utica, NY, crossed over to paradise to join our Lord Jesus Christ, on August 4, 2026. After a brave battle with cancer, she was joyfully reunited in Heaven with her beloved son, Corey.

Born on January 23, 1950, Caroline left this world with no regrets, having lived her life to the absolute fullest. She was anchored by the incredible friendships she formed over the years—friends who held her up through the best and worst of times.

Caroline possessed a breathtaking talent for interior decorating. Her creativity, vision, and meticulous attention to detail were evident in everything she touched. This same dedication was reflected in her work ethic. She spent many years at the Indium Corporation before finding her true calling: serving others.

Caroline later retired from St. Joseph’s Nursing Home, where her profound compassion, empathy, and patience for the elderly formed lasting bonds of trust and mutual respect. She continued this meaningful work in the private sector, lovingly caring for the elderly in their homes. Even after her official retirement, she brought her meticulous touch to the Radisson and Sheraton Hotels. Caroline took immense pride in everything she did, whether it was caring for her immaculate home, her clothing, or any task placed in front of her.

Her greatest joy, however, was showering her loved ones with specially chosen gifts, always wrapped with her signature, breathtaking beauty. Yet, Caroline herself required very little. To her, a beautiful card was the greatest gift of all; she saved every single one and reflected on them often.

Caroline leaves behind a loving family, including her grandsons, Noah and Logan Eychner; her great-grandson, Wyatt Ferrucci; and the boys' mother, Carrie Quigley. She is also survived by a special niece, Delilah Reynolds; her devoted “special daughter,” Julie Gubbins, who was always by her side; three sisters, Mariam, Helena, and Victoria; and her brother, Louis Scavone.

She is predeceased by her parents, Samuel and Helen Scavone; her sister, Diane Santiago; her brother, Samuel Scavone; her ex-husband, Richard Eychner; her companions, Tutti Fabare and Robert Race; and the pride, joy, and love of her life—her only son, Corey Eychner.

Caroline wished to express her deepest love and gratitude to her friends for holding her up through the devastating loss of her precious son. Special thanks are extended to Mary Jo, Liliana, Paulo, Ajsa, Michelle, Linda and Bob, Kathy and Renee, and Donna Colangelo, the casino bus coordinator. Caroline cherished the countless memories made with all her casino friends over the years.

Her family will honor her with a graveside service on Friday, August, 7, 2026, 9 am at St. Agnes Cemetery, Utica, where she will be laid to rest with her beloved son. Caroline loved white gardenias and white roses. Those wishing to honor her memory may send flowers to Matt Funeral Home, 700 Rutger St., Utica, where her arrangements have been entrusted.
