On Saturday, July 12, 2025, Charlotte Jeanette Snyder, went to be with her loving husband, Richard Louis Snyder, to dance the night away.
Charlotte was born in Sangerfield, NY, September 7, 1941, a daughter of the late Leon and Marjorie (Blair) Maine. She was educated in Waterville schools.
On February 28, 1958, Charlotte was joined in marriage to her childhood sweetheart, Richard “Dick’ Snyder. Dick and Charlotte shared over fifty loving years of marriage, raising their family and operating their business Snyder and Crew Pole Buildings. Everyone that knew Char and Dick, as they were called by their friends, could tell you, if Dick wasn’t working, they would be out riding the motorcycle, driving their team of horses or dancing. The activities they enjoyed were amazing, even with Char’s poor eyesight, she would walk miles on the roads and was also a runner who ran three major road races and won all three in her age group.
The couple especially loved motorcycling and traveled throughout the country. They always loved seeing what was on the next horizon and Char always bragged that they went to every state except Alaska and Hawaii, and she would go anywhere as long as there was a good glass of wine at the end of ride. Char was always happiest on the back of the bike and she always had Dick’s back right to the end when Dick passed away on November 7, 2010.
Char is survived by her children, Mitzie and Tony King, Melinda “Lynnie” and Kim McIntyre, Jerry and Stacy Snyder, and Malonie “Mel” Snyder; ten beloved grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren, one great-great grandchild; and also many in-laws, nieces, and nephews. She was predeceased by four sisters and four brothers.
Relatives and friends are invited to Char’s Celebration of Life held on Sunday, July 20, 2025, at the Waterville Legion, Clifford J. Fulmer Post 92, 8083 State Route 20, Waterville, NY 13480, from 12 noon to 4 p.m., with a special toast at 2 p.m.
