Christopher Herbert Ettelt

Christopher H. Ettelt, 65, passed away due to heart complications, Monday, June 19, 2023, at Baylor, Scott and White Hospital in Plano, TX. His loved ones were by his side.

He was born in Herkimer, NY, August 15, 1957, a son of the late Herbert and Merry Jean (Hurteau) Ettelt. He was raised and educated in Cedarville, NY, attending West Winfield schools.

Chris worked for Pepsi-Cola, as a distributor, for over thirty four years, retiring on his birthday, August 15, 2019.

An outdoorsman, Chris loved to hunt, fish, and considered himself the “great white hunter”. As a young boy, he was a trapper, and earned extra money to help with his passion for Moto Cross racing. He was a car enthusiast and enjoyed bringing his 1953 Chevy 3500 Pickup truck to car shows, where he won many awards. He loved to travel, and has enjoyed the last few years gallivanting, throughout the country, with his fiancé and life partner, Linda Garcea.

Chris is survived by his two sons, Bradley Ettelt and Gregory Ettelt; his granddaughter, Sophia Ettelt; his fiancé, Linda; two sisters and one brother-in-law, Jeannie and George Sabol, and Cindy King; many aunts and uncles, especially acknowledging, Nedda and Andy Sands, Ron and Ruth Besig, and Harold Ettelt; and also many nieces, nephews, cousins, and many dear friends, too numerous to mention. He was predeceased by his brother, Mark Ettelt.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend his Memorial Mass, Friday, June 23, 2023, at 10:30 a.m., at St. Anthony & St. Agnes Church in Utica.
