David Theodor Sellevold, passed away peacefully, on September 25, 2021. David was a graduate of Delaware Academy and Central School, in Delhi and Toccoa Falls College, in Georgia.
He is survived by his father, two children, three grandchildren, three siblings, several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins, both here in the states and in Norway. He also leaves a dear friend behind who was very close to him.
David had a passion for motorcycles and especially enjoyed riding his Triumph Chopper. He was also an accomplished guitarist and enjoyed composing songs that reflected his life situations. He wrote one such composition, when he was working on a nearby farm, “The Haying Blues”, had nearby farmers chuckling all season long.
David served in the U. S. Navy, as an Aviation Mechanic, on the Air Craft Carriers U.S.S. Ranger and U.S.S. Enterprise. He often reminisced of his “Navy Days” and the many adventures he experienced during his time in service. He especially enjoyed meeting other veterans and would introduce himself with, “Navy Davy is my name, if you ask me again, I’ll tell you the same”.
Arrangements are with Matt Funeral Home in Utica, NY. A private service will be held at a later date.
