Dominic A. Commesso

Dominic A. Commesso,  85, of Marcy, passed away peacefully, Saturday, December 16, 2023, at The Presbyterian of CNY.

Dominic was born in Utica, November 21, 1936, a son of the late Frank and Carmella (Gerace) Commesso. He attended Utica schools and was a 1956 graduate of T.R. Proctor High School. Dominic later attended school in court reporting graduating in 1959. He was employed for 8 years as a Herkimer County Court, Surrogate, and Grand Jury reporter, retiring in 2007, and as the official Oneida County Grand Jury reporter, totaling 45 years of court reporting.

Dominic leaves his beloved nephew and niece, Arthur Broccoli and his family, and Carmella (Broccoli) Mellone and her family; also surviving are many beloved cousins in the Gerace and Commesso families, especially his special cousin and friend, Rock Femia.

He was predeceased by his beloved sister and brother-in-law, Concetta “Connie” and Victor Broccoli; a brother, Francis “Frank” Commesso; his beloved grandmother, Maria (Leone) Gerace; and his aunt, Joyce Commesso.

In keeping with Dominic’s wishes his family honored him with a private Mass of Christian Burial at his beloved St. Mary of Mt. Carmel/ Blessed Sacrament Parish. Private interment was in Calvary Cemetery.

The family would like to offer their heartfelt thanks to the caregivers at the Presbyterian Residential Community and Rehab for the countless hours of loving care shown to Dominic during his stay there.
