Erminia C. "Amelia" (Testa) Guido

Mrs. Erminia “Amelia” Guido, 93, passed away peacefully, with loving family by her side, Sunday, May 14, 2023.

Born in Utica, January 6, 1930, Amelia was the daughter of the late Fiorentino “Fred” and Giulia Testa. She attended local schools, was a graduate of TR Proctor High School, and studied data processing at MVCC.

Amelia worked as an office organizer and bookkeeper at Utica Casket Co., for over twenty years, and later at RCIL, for many years, until her retirement.

On February 11, 1982, Amelia was joined in marriage to Flaminio “Flam” Guido and they enjoyed nine loving years until his passing on April 1, 1991.

A loving sister and aunt, Amelia is survived by her two sisters, Jean Masercola and Joanne Chase; sisters-in-law, Marie Testa and Shirley Graziano; her stepchildren and their families, Donald and Kathy Guido, Christopher and Heather Guido, Mark and Ena Guido, Steve and Stacey Guido, and Rose Guido, and her son, Richard Guido, Jr.; and also nieces and nephews, Regina Testa and Michael Vadney, Julia and Anthony Elacqua, Fred Testa, Maria Harple, Mark and Erin Masercola, David and Karen Masercola, MaryJo and David Levitt, James and Meagan Chase, and Gloria Chase; and many great nieces, great nephews, and cousins. She was predeceased by her brother, Albino Testa; sisters and brothers-in-law, Mary and Roland Perreault, Gloria and Charles Peterpaul, and Anthony Masercola; stepson, Richard Guido; and grandchildren, Christine (Guido) Carbone and Michael Guido.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend her Mass of Christian Burial, Monday, May 22, at 11 a.m., at St. Mary of Mt. Carmel/Blesssed Sacrament Parish. Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery. There will be an opportunity following mass to greet the family.
