Felix Rocco Rotundo

Felix (Phil) Rocco Rotundo, 82, passed away on May 1, 2016, at home with his family at his side, after a long and courageous battle with cancer. He faced his illness as he faced life, with strength, dignity, and an upbeat spirit. Felix was born on July 27, 1933 in Utica, NY, the son of Rocco and Nellie Langone Rotundo. He was educated in local schools and graduated from TR Proctor High School. Felix worked as a sales rep for P&R Macaroni Co. selling pasta. He later accepted a position with Hershey Foods Pasta Group as an account supervisor. On Sept 30, 1961, Felix was joined in marriage to Lucille Grasso. They shared over 55 loving years together. Felix greeted everyone with a gentle smile and sincere kindness. There was nothing he loved more than family and friends gathered at his home. He loved to cook and made sure all of your favorites were prepared for your arrival. He was also a train, camera, and history enthusiast and shared his wealth of knowledge on these subjects with many lifelong friends. He was a longtime resident of Utica, NY and moved to Port St. Lucie, FL when he retired. Felix was loved by all who knew him. He was a devoted friend and mentor and will be dearly missed by those who visited with him on a daily basis. He is survived by his wife, Lucille; daughter and son-in-law, Debra and Jeff Kinsler; son and daughter-in-law, Rocco and Dina Rotundo; and 3 grandchildren, Nicholas Rotundo, Nadine Rotundo, and Maurice Kinsler, all of whom he so enjoyed spending time with, brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Michael and Kay Grasso of CA. His Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, June 3, 2016 at 6 p.m. at St. Mary of Mt. Carmel/Blessed Sacrament Parish, 648 Jay St., Utica, NY. The family will greet visitors before mass and a celebration of his life will directly follow the mass. In lieu of flowers, please consider donations to The Regional Cancer Center at Faxton-St. Luke's Healthcare. Donations may be made at the church services.
