Florence "ChuChi" Kukowski

Our beloved “ChuChi”, Florence Kukowski, 99, passed away peacefully, with the love of family in her heart, Saturday, July 27, 2024.

Florence was born in Bayonne, NJ, July 8, 1925, one of twelve children, to the late Frank and Rose (Majkowski) Kukowski. The family moved to Utica when she was a young girl, where she was raised and educated in local schools.

For many years, Florence was employed at Dunlop Tires, from where she retired. She was a communicant of St. Mark’s Church in North Utica.

A truly selfless person, Florence’s life was all about family. Everything she did was always with them in mind. Although she had no children of her own, you would never know it, as her nieces, nephews, and their families were all her kids. She loved spending time with all of them and especially enjoyed her trips to the casino. Her passing closes an era; she now joins her beloved siblings in Heaven. We love you ChuChi, rest in peace.

She is survived by her many beloved nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, great-great nieces and great great nephews especially acknowledging, Michael and Darlene Burline, Carol Ambrose, Steven and Denise Burline, Lauren and Joseph Tinker, and Peter and Donna Brutto.

She was predeceased by five brothers, Joseph, Henry, Ziggy, Chester, and Edward Kukowski; and six sisters, Irene Brutto, Mae Warsh, Clara Burline, Helen Wierzbicki, Jean Zajac, and her beloved sister, Dorothy Kukowski, with whom she lived her entire life.

Her Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, August 5, at 10 a.m., at St. Mark’s Church in North Utica. The family will greet visitors following mass. Entombment will be in Resurrection Mausoleum.

The family would like to offer their heartfelt thanks to the caregivers at the Presbyterian Home for the loving care shown to Florence during her stay there.
