Mrs. Frances D. (D'Acunto) Laria, 96, passed away peacefully on Thursday, December 29, 2016 at the Presbyterian Home for CNY. Frances was born in Utica on March 29, 1920, a daughter of Anthony and Lucy (DePhillips) D'Acunto. She was educated in local schools including UFA, and was a member of the first graduating class of T.R. Proctor High School. She later attended the Utica School of Commerce. On November 22, 1945, Frances was joined in marriage to Joseph D. Laria. Fran and Joe shared a marriage filled with love and devotion to each for over sixty-five years. Her beloved Joe passed away on January 6, 2011. For many years, she was the head of the billing Department at Sitrin Brothers, Inc., retiring in 1955 to raise her family. Frances was a lifelong devoted member of St. Mary of Mt. Carmel Church and school, and a member of the Mt. Carmel Society, PTA, and was also very active at the annual festival. She was Den Mother for the Cub Scouts for many years. Her life revolved around her God, her family, and her church. She will be deeply missed by her two daughters and sons-in-law, Margaret and Raymond Hanrahan of Whitesboro, and Karen and Robert Tintner of Middletown; her son and daughter-in-law, Anthony and Diane Laria of New Hartford; grandchildren, John and Tammy Hanrahan, Lisa and Chad LaPlante, Kimberly and Richard Lehman, Dana and Justin Bennett, Andrew Tintner, and twins, Cortney and Kristen Laria; also nine great grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was predeceased by her brother and sister-in-law, Ralph and Shirley D'Acunto. Relatives and friends are invited to attend her Mass of Christian Burial on Tuesday at 10 a.m. at St. Mary of Mt. Carmel/Blessed Sacrament Parish. Private entombment will be in Calvary Mausoleum. There are no calling hours. The family would like to offer their heartfelt thanks to the staff of The Presbyterian Home, especially the Cedar Wing, for the loving care shown to their mom, whom they treated like she was their own.
