Mr. Frank M. Mazza, 72, passed away Tuesday, March 15, 2016 in GA after a long battle with heart disease. Born in Utica on May 17, 1943, Frank was a son of the late Frank and Rachel Talerico Mazza. He was educated in local schools. On November 6, 1982, Frank married the former Antoinette Brigham. The couple have shared thirty-three years together. At one time, Frank worked as a CNC operator for Kelsey Hayes, and in recent years he bartended at many area bars. Frank belonged to the St. Francis Society, Frankfort, NY, where he spent many good times with family and friends. Frank is survived by his beloved wife, Antoinette; his daughter, Francesca Mazza of GA; two sisters and one brother-in-law, Jaye Asaro, and Nancy and William Piperata; two brothers-in-law, Frank Biernat and Vincent Balandis; his mother-in-law, Dorothy Brigham; in-laws, Deborah Brigham, and Adleor and Colleen Brigham; and many cousins, nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews, and best friend, Billy Gape. He was predeceased by two sisters, Carmella Biernat and Marie Balandis; and a brother-in-law, Nick Asaro. Frank's life and funeral services will be celebrated on Monday at Noon at The Matt Funeral Home, beginning with ritualistic prayers by the St. Francis Society with funeral rites to follow officiated by Rev. Anthony LaFache. Interment will follow in Calvary Cemetery. Relatives and friends may call on Monday from 10 a.m. until Noon at The Matt Funeral Home, 700 Rutger St., corner of Mohawk St., Utica. In Frank's memory donations can be made to The American Heart Association or The American Cancer Society.
