Frank Angelo “Fla Fla” Pallaria Sr., 83, passed away peacefully, on Thursday, December 17, 2020.
Frank was born in Utica, April 29, 1937, a son of the late Angelo and Rose (Giruzzi) Pallaria. He was educated in local schools and a graduate of TR Proctor High School. Frank began his public safety career as a Utica Fire Fighter and later joined the Utica Police Police Department in December of 1961, retiring in 1986. He began working in the meat industry with his cousins at G & L Packing and in the 1960's opened Pallaria’s Sausage on Mohawk St., in Utica. He eventually sold the property in the 1980’s and took a position as a sales rep for a Boston Meat purveyor. Frank transferred to South Florida and worked for that company until his retirement.
He was a member of the Knights of Columbus, the FOE Elks, a lifetime member of the Police Benevolent Assoc., and Retired Police Assoc. Family was everything to Frank and he loved spending time with them, in earlier years he loved to go dancing.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Vickie of fourteen years; his daughter and son-in-law, Rosalie and Wayne Santos, of Fonda; five grandchildren; many great grandchildren; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Angelo and Priscilla Pallaria, of Utica, and John and Geri Pallaria, of Boynton Beach, FL; and also many nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was predeceased by his daughter, Deborah Hlavin; and his son, Frank Pallaria Jr..
Frank’s services were held in Florida and he was laid to rest in Palms Memorial Park in Sarasota FL.
