Frank P. Reginelli, 72, a lifelong resident of Utica, passed away peacefully on Sunday, April 27, 2025, at the Hickory House of the Sitrin Health Care Center.
Born in Utica on June 30, 1952, Frank was the son of the late Floyd and Rose (Cosco) Reginelli. He was educated locally and a graduate of T.R. Proctor High School and attended Mohawk Valley Community College.
At one time, Frank was married to Janice (Wohler) Reginelli, and together they had three adored daughters.
A rugged and resilient man, Frank worked in the construction industry from a young age. He began working alongside his brother, Jerry, and later as a professional sand blaster, operating his own business, Utica Service Restoration. Despite having many debilitating physical setbacks in his life, Frank met each one with determination and grit.
Known for his sense of humor and larger-than-life personality, Frank loved to strike up a conversation and keep it going for hours. He was also quite a prankster. A lifelong fitness enthusiast, Frank worked out twice a day well into his later years and was an avid fan of professional wrestling. He proudly claimed to have inspired Arnold Schwarzenegger’s iconic line, “I’ll be back,” from The Terminator—a story he loved to share.
He is survived by his three beloved daughters, Nicole Reginelli, Jennifer Reginelli and her husband, Peter Uliciansky, and Lori Reginelli, all of NC; three beloved grandchildren, Jakub, Mikaela and Lilyanna; a special sister-in-law, Peggy Reginelli; a brother-in-law, Keith Rahn and many special nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and extended family.
He was predeceased by his brother, Gerald “The Count” Reginelli; sister, Kathleen Rahn; nephew, Gerald Reginelli; and niece, Roseanne Salamey.
Relatives and friends may call on Wednesday, May 7, 2025 from 12:00pm - 2:00pm at The Matt Funeral Home, 700 Rutger St., corner of Mohawk St., Utica. A closing prayer and reflections of Frank’s life will be at the conclusion of calling hours. After, family and friends are invited to celebrate his life at a local restaurant. On Thursday, May 8, 2025 an interment will be held in Calvary Cemetery in the morning.
The family would like to offer their heartfelt thanks to the staff of the Hickory House for the care and compassion shown to Frank during his stay.
