Frederick "Fred" A. Spagnola, 64, passed away surrounded by the love of his family on Wednesday, June 1, 2016, at Imogene Bassett Hospital in Cooperstown. Fred was born in Utica on May 6, 1952, a son of the late Thomas and June (Bush) Spagnola. He was educated in Frankfort Elementary and Senior High School. Fred served our country in the US Marine Corp during the Vietnam War. For many years, he worked for the Town of Frankfort as a road crew supervisor. Fred was a fun loving guy with a great sense of humor, he loved NASCAR; and enjoyed spending time at the casino and Dave's Diner with his buddies. Fred always liked being on the family farm, and giving the kids a ride on the tractor. He was Always a jokester, Fred continued to be until the end. He is survived by his daughter, Tracy Lebert, and her mother, Denise Spagnola; daughter, Erika Spagnola and her fiancé Joe Murto, of Washington, DC; stepdaughter, Jasmine Juteau and her husband Joey Allen, of Brooklyn; two grandchildren, Cody and Kaleigh; his twin brother, Thomas Spagnola of Frankfort; two sisters, Cynthia Sykes and Ray Tantillo of Frankfort and Christine Burkinshaw and Andrew Morzienski of Syracuse; sister-in-law, Sandi Spagnola; and many nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews. He was predeceased by his brother, Michael Spagnola; and sister, Elizabeth Spagnola. Relatives and friends are invited to attend his Memorial Mass of Christian Burial with Military Honors on Tuesday at 10:30 a.m. at St. Anthony & St. Agnes Church. The family will greet visitors following mass. The family would like to thank Dr's Kelly and Daniels and the ICU staff of Bassett Hospital, as well as, the Dialysis Unit in Little Falls, for the loving care and compassion shown to Fred during his illness.
