Gilberto Valentin, Jr.

Mr. Gilberto "Gilly" Valentin Jr., age 52, a resident of the D'Amico ICF and formerly of the Colenzo ICF, passed away following surgery on Wednesday, October 5, 2016 in St. Elizabeth Medical Center with his loved ones by his side. Born in the Bronx, NY on August 31, 1964, Gilberto was a son of the late Carmen Rodriguez Valentin and Gilberto Valentin. Gilberto became a part of the family of the Upstate Cerebral Palsy's Colenzo ICF in 1992 and recently moved to the D'Amico ICF. Gilly loved to listen to Spanish music, eat Mexican food, and roll his red thera-tube in his hands. Gilberto was of the Catholic Faith. Gilly is survived by his family at the Colenzo and D'Amico ICF's; his sisters, Luz Mayra Valentin and her husband, Frank R. Perez, Estelle Valentin and Marisol Valentin; one nephew, Reinaldo Valentin Perez; and many friends and extended family. His funeral will be held on Wednesday, October 12, 2016 at 1 p.m. at The Matt Funeral Home with interment in West Schuyler Cemetery. Relatives and friends may call on Wednesday from 12 noon until 1 p.m., when the funeral services begin at The Matt Funeral Home, 700 Rutger St., corner of Mohawk St., Utica.
