Guy J. Sheridan Obituary

After a long and fiercely fought battle with various health issues, Guy J. Sheridan, 46, passed away peacefully, in the comfort of his own home, Thursday, May 28, 2026.

Guy, who was affectionately referred to by his family as “Gui”, was born in Utica, August 25, 1979, the son of Guy and Marilyn (Stoio) Sheridan. He was raised and educated locally and a 1997 graduate of New Hartford High School. On February 26, 1999, Guy was joined in marriage to the former Alison Griffith, with whom he shared his three beloved children.

A loving father and grandfather, Guy always enjoyed time spent with family. His kids meant the world to him. An avid sports fan, he enjoyed all New York teams, including the Knicks, Giants, and especially his beloved Yankees. As a kid growing up, Guy was quite the baseball player and loved fishing with his grandfather and uncles. He was happy anywhere he could toss in a line. Guy always had a passion for music and especially Coldplay, Phish, and was a diehard Dave Matthews Band fan.

Guy is survived by his wife, Alison Sheridan; children, Kyra Sheridan and her boyfriend, Brett George, Jaden Sheridan and his girlfriend, Sheila Wah, and Riah Sheridan; grandchildren, Ariella “Ella Rose” Smith, and Keanu Sheridan; parents, Guy and Marilyn Sheridan; sisters and brother-in-law, Kristie and Greg Morawiec, and Heather Mauro and her fiancé, Michael Rotach; mother-in-law, Nancy Zoeckler; father-in-law, William and Karen Griffith; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Andrea Griffith and Mike Brown; many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins, especially including his Godmother, Barbara Cappotto; Godfather, James Morgan; and his nephew, Anthony Doti, who was like a son to him. He was predeceased by his niece, Kaitlyn Sheridan; step father-in-law, Darren Zoeckler; and his best friend, Eric Rosemyer, who was like a brother to Guy.
