Janet M Fondario

Mrs. Janet M. (Waterman) Fondario, 82, a beloved mother and grandmother, earned her wings, June 14, 2022, with her daughter and caregiver, Barbara, by her side.

Janet was born July 17, 1939, in Utica, a daughter of the late Gerald and Cora (McCormick) Waterman. In 1972, Janet was joined in marriage to Gabriel Fondario, Jr. and shared over 42 years of loving marriage, until Gabe’s passing, in 2014. Janet had a zest for life; a person who was always full of love and energy. She devoted her entire life to her children, always making sure they had every want and need met. A devoted mother and grandmother, Janet was kind, generous, and absolutely adored spending time with her family. She loved the holidays, garage sales, and bingo. Janet worked for Munson Williams Proctor Arts Institute for many years, where she held several positions.

Janet is survived by three daughters, her caregiver, Barbara Poccia and son-in-law to be, Eddie Esposito, of Utica, Debbie Spencer, of Idaho, and Laurie Harvey, of Utica; her cherished grandson, John Poccia; beloved granddaughter to be, Alyssa Esposito; and sister, Carol Ege. She was predeceased by three sisters, Marion Risucci, Kathleen Watson, and Nancy Miller; and a brother, Gerald “Sonny” Waterman.

Janet’s family honored her privately and she will be laid to rest with her beloved husband, Gabe, in Calvary Mausoleum.
