Jeanette Catherine (Dziura) Conte

Mrs. Jeanette Catherine Conte, 88, a pillar of love and strength, passed away surrounded by her adoring family, on Thursday, August 17, 2023.

Jeanette was born in Utica on November 2, 1934, daughter of the late Joseph and Adeline (Urban) Dziura. Her journey through life was marked by an unwavering commitment to education, family, and service. She attended TR Proctor High School, and proudly earned her diploma from Utica Free Academy. Her quest for knowledge led her to Utica College, where she dedicated herself to learning and earned a Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, a testament to her intelligence and dedication.

On August 20, 1955, Jeanette embarked on a lifelong journey of love and partnership, joining hands in marriage with Frank A. Conte. Their love story was one for the ages, and their legacy of devotion has been etched into the hearts of those they touched. Jeanette and Frank would have celebrated sixty-eight remarkable years of marriage on Sunday, August 20th.

Jeanette's professional journey was a testament to her work ethic and commitment. She commenced her career at Mele Manufacturing before finding her home at Utica College. With dedication and passion, she contributed her talents to various departments until she retired from the president's office after more than 25 years at the University. Even in retirement, her spirit of service endured as she continued to work for the Town of Trenton.

A woman of many facets, Jeanette's heart overflowed with love for her family and community. Her presence at Holy Trinity School was a source of guidance and warmth, impacting the lives of countless young minds. Beyond the halls of education, she relished in the simple pleasures of life – dining at various restaurants, the thrill of the casino, and the comfort of her own home. Her greatest joy, however, was found within the embrace of her cherished family.

Jeanette's memory lives on in the hearts of her beloved husband, Frank, and her eight devoted children: Diane and Peter Servello, Robert and Noreen Conte, Eugene Conte, Arthur Conte, Paul Conte, John and Jane Conte, Mary and Stanley Bogdan, and Susan and Chris Thomas. She was a beacon of love and wisdom for her numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was predeceased by her sister and brother-in-law, Lorraine and William Reed.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday at 11:30 am at St. Peter's Church in North Utica, where the community that she enriched will gather to honor her memory. She will find her final resting place at St. Stanislaus & Casmir Cemetery, a peaceful reflection of a life well-lived.

Family and friends are invited to pay their respects on Wednesday at St. Peter's Church from 10 am to 11:30 am, a time to share stories, offer comfort, and celebrate a life that touched so many.

The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to Hospice & Palliative Care for their unwavering compassion and to her dedicated caregivers: Granddaughter Sarah Morehouse, Tina Yelle, Sandy Scholl, Michelle Sehn, and Loreen Davies, Pat Alam. Their love and support provided solace during Jeanette's final chapter.

These contributions will continue her legacy of compassion and kindness, embodying the spirit that defined her life.
