Jeanmarie Bernadette Suppa

Jeanmarie Bernadette Suppa, 56, went home to her Lord and Creator and was reunited with her mother for all eternity, Friday, November 18, 2016. She was born in Utica on October 9, 1960, a daughter and youngest child of Francis and Saveria "Sadie" (Geraci) Suppa. Jean received her elementary education at St. Mary of Mt. Carmel School and her secondary education at Notre Dame High School, where she graduated with the class of 1985. At an early age and with the passing of her mother in 1966, she became the woman of the home for her dad and four brothers. Jean was employed as a teller for the Savings Bank of Utica and later as claims processor for Met-Life Insurance Co. She held this position until 1990 when health problems forced her to retire. She is survived by her dad, Francis; four brothers and three sisters-in-law, Michael and Diana Suppa, Joseph Suppa, Fran Jr. and Joanne Suppa, and Mark and Dawn Suppa; her nieces and nephews, Connie Mandia, Freddie Suppa, Sarah and Mike Piazza, Alysa, Fran III, Lucas, Juliana, Josh, little Joey and Saveria "Sadie" Suppa; aunts and uncles, Rosemary Chiffy, Theresa Suppa, and Sam and Carmelita Scotellaro; and also many cousins, great nieces and great nephews of the Suppa, Chiffy, Scotellaro and Geraci families. She was blessed with many friends, with special mention of her cousin, Lois Geraci Ernst. Her funeral will be held on Wednesday at 9 a.m. from The Matt Funeral Home and at 10 a.m. at St. Mary of Mt. Carmel Church/Blessed Sacrament Parish. Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery. Relatives and friends may call on Tuesday from 4 to 7 p.m. at The Matt Funeral Home, 700 Rutger St., at Mohawk St., Utica. In memory of Jeanmarie, please consider donations to the Mt. Carmel Fund.
