Jeanne C. Alfano

Jeanne C. Alfano, 71, passed away, June 10, 2023, at the Oneida Center, in Utica.

Jeanne was born June 11, 1951, a son of the late Carmen and Margaret (Zegarelli) Alfano. She was raised and educated locally, and a graduate of Sauquoit Valley Central School. Jeanne was a kind and understanding person, who always spoke her mind and had her own way of doing things. She loved being on the beach, at the ocean, or going out to eat with family and friends. A lover of dance and art, she especially enjoyed being in the garden, including her time helping out with the garden at Johnson Park Center, where she spent many hours in her later years.

She is survived by her siblings, Ron and Miho Alfano of Brooklyn, NY, Karen Alfano of Hazard, Kentucky, and Donna Williams and Greg Rogers of Cassville, NY; nephew, Shawn Paul Williams; and niece, Erica Lynn Williams.

Jeanne’s family will greet visitors on Friday, June 16, from 4-5 p.m., at The Matt Funeral Home, corner of Rutger and Mohawk Sts., in Utica. Services will be held by Reverend Meier, at 5 p.m., at the conclusion of calling hours. Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery at the family’s convenience.

The family would like to thank both Reverend Meier and the staff of Johnson Park Center for the care, assistance, and compassion for their sister throughout the final years of her life.
