Joseph M. Moreland, entered into eternal life, July 2nd 2021, after a long and brave battle with cancer. With God’s grace, he humbly joins his father, Irving, mother, Grace (Gerace), brother, Robert, and sister-in-law, Alice (Bigelis) in our Lord’s Kingdom.
Joseph was born in Utica, and a graduate of Roscoe Conkling Grade School and T.R. Proctor High School. He was a life-long Utican, whose career path included dedicated stops at several local food markets, The Municipal Housing Authority, Tri-Valley Beverage, and St. Luke’s Hospital Nutrition Services.
He is survived by his devoted sister, Elizabeth; brother, Richard; sister-in-law, Tracy (Woods); nieces, Rebecca and Melissa Moreland; and many loving cousins and life-long friends.
His funeral will be held on Wednesday at 9 a.m., from The Matt Funeral Home, and at 10 a.m., at St. Mary of Mt. Carmel/Blessed Sacrament Parish, with interment in Crown Hill Memorial Park. Relatives and friends may call on Tuesday, from 6 to 8 p.m., at The Matt Funeral Home, 700 Rutger St., corner of Mohawk St., Utica.
The family would like thank Dr. Kachare, Dr. DeSai, Dr. Butala, Wendy Mitchell PA, and the caring staff at MVHS.
