Joseph “Joey” Miller, 61, of Utica, passed away peacefully, after a long illness, with his loving family by his side, Thursday, October 30, 2025, at the Wynn Hospital.
Joey was born in Utica, February 4, 1964, a son of the late Charles Miller and Esther (Stucker) Miller. He was educated in St. Mary of Mt. Carmel School and a graduate of TR Proctor High School.
He was employed as a window installer for many years, until illness forced him out of work. He has been lovingly cared for by his family, especially his sister, Charlene, for the past 20 years.
In earlier years, Joey loved to tinker with his beloved, Chevelle. He also enjoyed fishing, betting the ponies and hanging out at OTB with his many buddies.
Joey will be missed by his mom, Esther; his sisters, Charlene Fessia, Terry Frate, and Mary Miller and her boyfriend, Karl Snyder; niece, Tracy Nellenback and her boyfriend, Jason Staples; nephews, Christopher Petrie, Daniel and Mary Walker, Lance and Yulan Petrie, and Darren Miller; and many great nieces and great nephews. He was predeceased by his dad, Charles; twin brothers, Charles “Chuckie’ and Donald Miller; nephew, Kim Petrie; and brother-in-law, Louis Frate.
Joey’s family will honor him in a private gathering and messages of sympathy can be made at www.MattFuneralHome.com.
The family would like to offer their heartfelt thanks to Katie Fuller, who was always there for Joey, and also the staff at Wynn Hospital, ICU, especially, Makayla, for their loving care and compassion. Special thanks to John and the staff at the Marrlogg Restaurant, for all their love and support during this difficult time.
