Joseph S. Ficchi

Mr. Joseph S. Ficchi, 64, passed away at home, with his loving wife and sons by his side, Tuesday, August 23, 2022.

Joe was born in New Hartford, NY, June 20, 1958, a son of the late Louis and Angeline (Rossi) Ficchi. He was raised and educated in local schools and a graduate of UFA. Following high school, he attended MVCC, where he began education and career in the plumbing and electrical industry. On February 13, 1988, Joe was joined in marriage to the former Elizabeth Bosque, with whom he shared over 34 loving years.

Joe was known as being meticulous, hardworking, and a perfectionist, no matter what task he attempted. He enjoyed the simple things in life; a good meal with family, picking tomatoes and jarring sauce, and the tradition of making sausage in the oil.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Elizabeth “Lisa” Ficchi; two sons and a daughter-in-law, Joseph Ficchi, and Dominick and Brittany Ficchi; grandchildren, Roman Michael and Dominick Alesandro Ficchi; sister, Gina and Bob Cates; brothers, Salvatore Ficchi and Nancy Stignitti, and Louis and Grace Ficchi; sister-in-law, Yvonne Catrombone; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Steve and Carrie Bosque; mother-in-law, Neida Bosque; step-mother-in-law, Felicia Bosque; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and close friends, especially cousins, Vinny Mastracco, of OH and Vinny Ficchi, and beloved friend, Karen Jones.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend his Mass of Christian Burial, Monday, August 29th, 10 a.m., at Historic Old St. John’s Church, in Utica. Visitation will be held on Sunday, August 28th, 1 to 3 p.m., at The Matt Funeral Home, 700 Rutger St., corner of Mohawk St., Utica.

Lisa, Joe and Dominick would like to thank his family and many friends who stopped by during his illness with many special gifts and especially for their presence and prayers.
