Judith Ann (Mear) Condella, 69, of Virginia Beach, VA, passed away unexpectedly, at her home, Sunday, November 30, 2025.
Born in Utica, NY, July 19, 1956, Judith Ann was the daughter of Carmellina (Cardillo) Mear and the late Ernest Mear. She was educated in Utica schools and graduated early from T. R. Proctor High School, with the class of 1973. After graduation, Judy attended SUNY Potsdam, She pursued a career as a social worker and worked for many years at Broadacres Skilled Nursing Facility, in Deerfield, NY.
When Judy was young, the Mear family began horseback riding together, an activity which her parents and brother discontinued, but she continued to pursue, trail riding and taking lessons. An activity she enjoyed immensely.
On May 12, 1980, at St. Anthony of Padua Church, Judith married Robert Condella. The couple have shared over 45 years of love and commitment to each other.
In 1990, Judith and Robert left the area and moved to Virginia Beach, VA, where they have since resided. The couple enjoyed going to dinner and a movie and many good times spent at their condo in Orlando, FL. Judy also especially loved her pond and Koi fish; and her dogs she had over the years, but was particularly attached to her devoted dog, Tina.
A very kind and caring individual, Judy was not only dedicated to her clients during her career, but was always helping and advising anyone in need. She was a wonderful aunt, who spent many hours with her nieces and nephews, when they were young, going to the movies, dinner, and even to Disney World. She was of the Catholic faith.
Judy is survived by her beloved husband, Robert of Virginia Beach, VA; her mother, Carmellina Mear of Rome, NY; her brother and sister-in-law, Glen and Cynthia Mear of Rome, NY; nephews and nieces, Glen Jr., Michael, Christopher, Trisha, Nikita, Gregory, Christopher, and Amanda; great nephews, River John and Vincenzo; and her aunt, Mary Cardillo. She was predeceased by her father, Ernest Mear; and father-in-law and mother-in-law, Joseph and Betty Condella.
Judy’s family has honored her privately and she was laid to rest with her father in the family plot at Calvary Cemetery.
