Kathleen Arcuri Obituary

Mrs. Kathleen  A. (Giruzzi) Arcuri, 86, went to her eternal home, to join her beloved husband and son, on Thursday, February 18, 2021. Her passing was at the Sycamore House of the Sitrin HCC, with her devoted family by her side.

Kathleen was born in Utica, August 1, 1934, a daughter of the late Rocco F. Sr. and Carmella (Mancuso) Giruzzi. She was educated in local schools and a graduate of T.R. Proctor High School, where she shared many lifelong friendships.

On February 11, 1956, Kay was joined in marriage to Bruno M. Arcuri. Kay and Bruno shared a marriage filled with love and devotion to each other for over fifty years. Their lives revolved around raising their two beloved sons and their families. Later for several years, the couple enjoyed traveling to Florida, until Bruno suffered a debilitating illness. Kay was by his side, right to the end. Her beloved Bruno, passed away on December 1, 2006.

Kay worked for many years with her brother, Rock, at his pharmacy, The Fort Schuyler Drug Co., on Bleecker St., in Utica. Later, she was employed for the Resource Center for Independent Living (RCIL), retiring several years ago.

A fierce supporter of her family, you did not want to mess with Kay, when it came to family. She had a strong devotion, to not only her immediate family, but, also her many aunts, uncles, and cousins. She told it like it was and you always knew where you stood with her. Although she will be deeply missed, it is a comfort to know that she is safely home with her many loved ones.

She is survived her beloved son and daughter-in-law, Rocco F. Sr. and Vicci Arcuri; her daughter-in-law, Lynda Arcuri; grandchildren, Rocco F. Jr. and Julie Arcuri, Aricca Arcuri and her fiancé, Zachary Lewis, Taylor and Kevin Unser, Kathleen Arcuri, and Bruno Dante Arcuri; Lauren Arcuri, Michael and Ashley Arcuri, and Nicole and Paul Diamond; great grandchildren, Carmella and Giuliana Arcuri, Kevin Unser, Jr., and Gia, Paul, and Talia Diamond; her sisters-in-law, Mary Ann Giruzzi and Elizabeth “Betty” Arcuri; and many beloved nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends, including lifelong friend, Marie Testa.

Kay was predeceased by her beloved son, Michael J. Arcuri, who was always close to her heart; as well as, her brother, Rocco F. Giruzzi, Jr.; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Michael and Maria Giuseppe Arcuri; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Fred and Frances Arcuri, Dick and Fannie Arcuri, Rose Arcuri, and Carmen Arcuri.
