Kathleen Timpano Obituary

Mrs. Kathleen Marie (Bifano) Timpano, 89, passed away, with the love of her family in her heart, on Wednesday, January 27, 2021, in St. Elizabeth Medical Center.

Kathleen was born in Utica, March 8, 1931, a daughter of the late Joseph and Angeline (Bonanza) Bifano. She was educated locally and a graduate of TR Proctor, class of 1949.

On June 28, 1952, Kathleen was married to Dominick Timpano. Kathleen and Dominick shared over sixty-three loving years together, devoted to each other every step of the way. Her beloved Dominick passed away on November 17, 2015.

Kathleen worked for many years, as a teacher’s aide, for Upstate Cerebral Palsy.

She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother, whose life revolved around her family and was always happiest when around children. She was a communicant of St. Mary of Mt. Carmel/Blessed Sacrament Parish.

She is survived by her beloved sons and their loves, Gabe and Denise, Joseph and Jill, Dominick and Amy, all of New Hartford, Michael and Anne, of Clay, and Robert and Retired Lt. Col. Mary Jo, of Sylvan Beach; grandchildren, Kathleen and Madeline, Dominick III and Kristen, Dr. Edmund, William, Michael, and Abbey; three great grandchildren, Blake and Layla Jones and Sophia Timpano; special cousin, Elaine Elefante; her godchild, Kathie Taillon; and her special cousins, the LaBella, Syrotynski, and Alberico families.

Kathleen was predeceased by her sister, Marie Bifano; sister-in-law, Anna Timpano; and her in-laws, Gabrielle and Carmella Timpano.

The family wishes to thank the Masonic Home Manhattan Unit, especially Dorothy, Terri, and Mirella, for all their devoted care; Melvina Jones, her home health aide, who did so much for her; friends, Rosemary Chiffy and Lucille Lavine, for all their concern; her dining partners Carolyn and Sher for their good company; special friend, Louise Marraffa, for all her calls; Dr. Sally O’Callahan and Dr. Gino Trevisani, for all their former care; and Dr. Fred Talarico, Pat Rosati, ANP, and Taylor Unser FNP, for all their dedicated care of Kathleen.

Her funeral will be held on Tuesday, at 11 a.m., at St. Mary of Mt. Carmel/Blessed

Sacrament Parish, with private interment in Calvary Cemetery. The church is at limited capacity. Please come a little early to register for Covid tracing; masks covering the nose and mouth, as well as, social distancing will be required. Church services will be live-streamed, information is on the Matt Funeral Home website at mattfuneralhome.com .
