Linda Bonamassa Obituary

Mrs. Linda A. (Kucmierz) Bonamassa, 61, passed away with her loving family by her side on Saturday, May 14, 2016 at Faxton-St. Luke's Healthcare. Linda was born in Blasedale, NY, October 15, 1954, a daughter of the late John and Irene (Setera) Kucmierz. She was educated in Buffalo Schools and a graduate of Frontier High School. Linda later attended cosmetology school and maintained her own shop, and taught hairdressing. While living in Rochester, she met her husband to be Dominick Bonamassa and on January 5, 1979, they were joined in marriage. The couple had shared thirty-seven loving years together. Linda was a dedicated LPN and worked in various places for many years. Most recently, she worked with House of the Good Shepherd and the Girl Scouts of America, as helping people was always her primary goal. A dedicated homemaker, Linda loved to knit; work in her garden; and cook and bake; and where "to go" containers were always a must to share with everyone. A devoted animal lover, she always took in strays and there was never a shortage of fur in the house. She is survived by her beloved husband, Dominick; two children, Carol Ann Bonamassa and Eric John Bonamassa; stepmother, Louise Callerame; brother, Jack Kucmierz; sister, Sharon Kucmierz; brother and sister-in-law, Leonard and Debra Bonamassa; a good friend, Bob Ostranader; and also many nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends are invited to attend her Mass of Christian Burial on Wednesday at 10:30 a.m. at St. Anthony & St. Agnes Church. Interment will be in St. Agnes Cemetery. Calling hours will be Tuesday from 6 to 7 p.m. at The Matt Funeral Home, 700 Rutger St., at Mohawk St., Utica. The family would like to offer their heartfelt thanks to the doctors and staff at Faxton-St. Luke's Healthcare for their care and compassion during this difficult time.
