Linda J. Harris

Mrs. Linda J. (Civatelli) Harris, 67, passed away with her loved ones by her side on Wednesday, August 31, 2016 at The Abraham House. Linda was born in Rome, NY, on August 1, 1949, a daughter of the late Peter and Jean (Nystrom) Civatelli. She was educated in Rome schools and a graduate of Rome Free Academy. She later attended the Utica School of Commerce. On February 14, 1969, Linda was joined in marriage to Grover Cleveland Harris. They have shared over forty-seven loving years together. Linda's work career began in nursing and she loved being a caregiver. Later she began a career with Fleet Bank (which later became Bank of America), as an adjuster. She has been employed with them for over twenty years. She was active with all the Bank of America activities and the Boilermaker. Linda loved being with her family and friends and always enjoyed family get togethers. Her family always came first. She is survived by her beloved husband, Grover; four sons, Grover and Kristy Harris, Trevor and Lauren Harris, Pasquale Harris, and Rex Reed; beloved grandchildren, Grover C. Harris V, Myah C. Harris, and Lenice, Dawsenia, and Raymond Reed; five great grandchildren; a sister, Valerie and John Gardner; and also many nieces, nephews, and many friends. Relatives and friends are invited to call on the family from 11 am to 1 pm on Friday (Today) at The Matt Funeral Home, 700 Rutger St., corner of Mohawk St., Utica. Graveside services will follow visitation at Forest Hill Cemetery. In lieu of flowers please consider donations to the Abraham House in Linda's memory.
