Linda Taurisano Obituary

Mrs. Linda M. Taurisano, 67, passed away with her loving family by her side, on Monday, September 20, 2021, at MVHS, St. Luke’s Campus

Linda was born in Rome, NY, October 14, 1953, a daughter of the late Samuel and Mary (Pendasulo) Ortolano. She was raised and educated in Rome and Utica schools and a graduate of Utica Free Academy.

As a young girl, Linda began work in the pharmacy at Rite Aid, on Mohawk St., this began a lifelong interest in the medical field. She was employed by St. Elizabeth Medical Center for over 31 years, she started out in Central Service and then became a Surgical Technician working in the Operating Room, which became her second home.  Linda was very much loved by her co-workers and made many lifelong friendships.

In 1990, Linda was joined in marriage to Mark A. Taurisano. Linda and Mark have shared over thirty-one loving years of marriage. Linda loved to travel and always looked forward to her vacations; she loved being at the beach, and Florida and Aruba were among her favorite places. A little dynamo, Linda was always on the move, couldn’t sit still and always had to be doing something, so shopping was always at the top of her list, as well as, going to see live bands and dancing with Mark. She was a very devoted wife, mother and proud Nana, who would sit for hours playing on the floor with her adored grandson, Dominick. Linda leaves a huge void in the family and she will be forever missed by her family and all who knew her.

She is survived by her beloved husband, Mark; her son, Anthony Samuel Taurisano and his girlfriend, Morgan; her daughter and son-in-law, Dana and David Percia; and her beloved grandson, Dominick; her sister and brother-in-law, Sandy and Billy Wilsey; in-laws, Anthony and Lauretta Taurisano, and Philip and Barbara Taurisano; and also many beloved nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. She was predeceased by her infant son Mark Anthony who was always close to her heart.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend her Mass of Christian Burial on Saturday, at 1 p.m., at St. Mary of Mt. Carmel/Blessed Sacrament Parish.

The family would like to offer their heartfelt thanks to Linda’s family, co-workers and friends for love and compassion shown during this difficult time.
