Lucille Taurisano Obituary

Mrs. Lucille (Allegretto) Taurisano, 95, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, March 3, 2015 at The Masonic Care Community. She was born in Utica, February 2, 1920, a daughter of Philip and Philomena (Rosa) Allegretto. She was educated in local schools and a graduate of T.R. Proctor High School. On September 2, 1938, Lucille was joined in marriage to Michael C. Taurisano. They shared forty-one years of marriage until Michael passed away on September 1, 1979. Mrs. Taurisano was a secretary employed with General Electric on French Road for over twenty years and later at Oneida County, from where she retired. During retirement, Lucille worked with her son at Mohawk Liquors for several years. She was a lifelong member of St. Mary of Mt. Carmel Church and a member of the St. Anne Society. A loving and devoted mother and grandmother, Lucille is survived by her three beloved sons and daughters-in-law, Anthony and Lauretta Taurisano of Utica, Philip and Barbara Taurisano of Fayetteville, and Mark and Linda Taurisano of New Hartford; grandchildren, Renee Rizzuti, Michele Tomassetti, Marc Philip Taurisano, Jon Michael and Rebecca Taurisano, Dana and Dave Percia, and Anthony Taurisano; six great grandchildren, Christina, Catherine, Marisa, Bridget, Caroline and Dominick; one sister, Phyllis Finn; and also many nieces and nephews, including a special niece, Marsha Finn Dammerman and nephew and godson, John Talerico. She was predeceased by her sister, Marie Talerico. Her Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday at 11 a.m. at St. Mary of Mt. Carmel/Blessed Sacrament Parish. Private interment will be in Calvary Cemetery. Relatives and friends may call on Friday (today) from 4-7 p.m. at The Matt Funeral Home, 700 Rutger St., corner of Mohawk St., Utica. The family would like to offer their sincerest gratitude to the staff of the Erie Unit of the Masonic Care Community for their loving care and compassion during Lucille's stay there.
