Luis A. Gonzalez

Mr. Luis A. Gonzalez, 72, passed away with his loved ones by his side on Friday, August 19, 2016 at St. Luke's Memorial Hospital. Luis was born in Arecibo, Puerto Rico on March 13, 1944, a son of Felin and Delia Gonzalez. He came to this area as a young man. He was joined in marriage to the former Nilda Heredia on July 27, 1968. They have shared over forty eight loving years together. Mr. Gonzalez was a maintenance man at Municipal Housing Authority for over twenty six years. He was a singer and guitarist at La Iglesia De Cristo Misionera inc. He is survived by his beloved wife Nilda, his son Marcus Gonzalez and four daughters, Awilda and her husband Nils Nilsson, Wanda Griggs, Carmen Ramos, and Margarita Acevedo and her boyfriend Sylvester Hawkins also eight grandchildren Michael, Alexis, Briana, Janessa, Jose Jr, Nils Jr, Jeffrey Jr, Maria-Elena and four great grandsons, nieces and nephews Gabriel, Ricardo, and Brenda Gonzalez, Daisy and Hari Valentin. He was predeceased by his brother Felix Gonzalez and sister Rosa Valentin and nephews Isreal and Felix Valentin. His funeral service will be held on Monday at 11 am at La Iglesia De Cristo Misionario inc 726 Elizabeth Street in Utica. Interment will follow in Forest Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be from 10 am until the time of the service at 11 am at the church.
