Mariana Maldonado 1944-2020

Utica, NY: Mariana Maldonado, 76, passed away, with her loving children by her side, on Tuesday, November 10, 2020, at St. Elizabeth Medical Center.

Mariana was born in San Juan, Puerto Rico, January 15, 1944, the daughter of the late Asucion and Josefina (Sanchez) Maldonado. She was raised and educated in Puerto Rico and came to the US and Brooklyn in the 1960’s, eventually moving to Utica. She was a licensed beautician in Puerto Rico, for many years.

She is survived by her seven children, Alexander Pabon, William Pabon, Harry Pabon, Lourdes Maldonado, Amado Charles, Carlos Maldonado and Amanda Gallardo; 17 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren; one sister, Santa Lopez; and also many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a brother and two sisters.

Visitation will be held on Thursday from 5 to 7 p.m., at the Matt Funeral Home, 700 Rutger St., at Mohawk St., Utica. The funeral home is at limited capacity and registration for tracing, masks covering your nose and mouth and social distancing will be required.

Graveside services will be held on Friday at 10 a.m. at Forest Hill Cemetery, in Utica.
