Marie A. (Albano) Brigantino, 82, of New Hartford, passed away peacefully, after a brief illness, with loved ones by her side, February 18, 2026, at Wynn Hospital.
Marie was born in Utica, NY, March, 26, 1943, a daughter of the late Carmen James and Theresa (Capocasale) Albano. She was raised and educated locally and a graduate of T.R. Proctor High School.
Marie was once joined in marriage to Francis Loucks, with whom she shared her three beloved children. On January 19, 1999, Marie was joined in marriage to John Brigantino with whom she shared over 27 loving years of marriage. A loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-mother, she will be missed dearly.
A lover of a good puzzle and all things Italian, Marie enjoyed cooking her favorite Italian meals. She loved watching sports and was an avid Indy Car racing fan. She would always root for her favorite racer, Joey Logano, and if she wasn’t watching racing, she would be watching her other favorite sport, tennis, and especially, Rafael Nadal.
She is survived by her husband, John Brigantino; children, Michele Loucks, David Francis and Laura Loucks, Kristin James and Amelia Loucks; grandchildren, Marlon Dean Tropeano and Cortney D’Amore, Alex James Albano, and Sabrina and Jeff Pelletier; great-grandsons, Antonio James Albano and Wesley Pelletier; beloved cousins, Joseph Capocasale, Mary Ann Capocasale, and Margaret Damiano; close friends, Patrick Crabbe, Priscilla Schmitter, Donald and Joanne Alberico, Norman and Roberta Pensero, and her friends since childhood, Marie Sambor, Stan Sambor, and Sandy Madonia. “True friendship lasts forever”. She was predeceased by her cousins, Joseph Damiano, and Marie J. Albano.
In keeping with Marie’s wishes there will be no public services. Her family have honored her privately at this time. Arrangements are under the care of Matt Funeral Home, Utica.
